The Branch of the Association HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation in KR and the Agha Khan Foundation are looking for a Business Facilitator in Cattle value chain of Bai Alai Programme (duty station in Osh, with frequent travels to and within Alai and Chon Alai regions, occasionally field trips to Bishkek).
Main tasks:
  • Support result-oriented, efficient and effective implementation of cattle value chain within Bai Alai programme through facilitating organisational and business development of partners and market players thereby contributing to BAI ALAI’s overall goal “Increased economic inclusion of producing households in Alai and Chon Alai, in particular also of women and youth.”
  • Actively look for possible partners by negotiations with private businesses, be aware of the development in the cattle sector, identification of possible markets and market channels.
  • Ensure that livestock owners are linked to relevant service providers, authorities and stakeholders and support to establish or strengthen their business relationships.
  • Ensure that service providers deliver services in the agreed quality, quantity and timeframe, allowing for a proper project management.
  • In close collaboration with the PFU Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator, ensure that monitoring and evaluation (both quantitative and qualitative) for cattle value chain respond to donor requirements as well as good practices of HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation and AKF with particular focus on GSE indicators.
  • Good personal and institutional working relationships are maintained, the project is well connected, and synergies with other Helvetas and AKF projects are developed and fully exploited.
  • Knowledge Management: The value chain facilitator is a specialist in private sector development, knows well cattle sector, and shares this knowledge openly with project staff and partners. Contribute to the mainstreaming of all transversal topics, especially GSE topic.
 
Qualifications:
  • High degree in business administration, economics, business development, or similar domain
  • Marketing and/or market development background/experience
  • Sound knowledge and experience in value chain development, preferably focusing on agriculture
  • M4P approach
  • Knowledge and experience in cattle sector
  • At least 5 years’ experience in business development and marketing experience,  and/or value chain development
  • Social competence and intercultural communication skills
  • Good reporting and writing skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Languages: English (oral and written), Kyrgyz (oral and written) and Russian
  • IT skills
  • Proficiency with office productivity software
