The Branch of the Association HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation in KR and the Aga Khan Foundation are looking for a Gender and social inclusion specialist of Bai Alai Programme (duty station in Osh, with frequent travels to and within Alai and Chon Alai regions, occasionally field trips to Bishkek).
Main tasks:
  • Design, manage and implement the project’s GSI strategy and recommend improvements, either directly or through participation in different studies
  • Design targeted programme activities across the value chains to promote GSE
  • Lead on setting WEE targets for the value chains and value chain facilitators and having overall responsibility of ensuring that the project’s GSI targets are met
  • Ensure, in co-ordination with Value Cain Facilitators, that GSI is incorporated into their interventions in line with the project working methodology; and maintain the proper records of the advice/coaching offered
  • Provide advice and coach Value Cain Facilitators and partners on GSI and WEE mainstreaming
  • lead on and manage the research on GSI-issues to design interventions and provide recommendations
  • Work closely with the Monitoring and Evaluation specialist and value chain facilitators to ensure adequate GSI monitoring tools are in place (setting indicators, conducting focus-group discussion, designing surveys, etc.)
  • Stimulate and participate in knowledge sharing and management
  • Present the GSI objectives, interventions and results toward key stakeholders and interested audiences
  • Liaise with relevant partners and stakeholders working in related areas, such as NGOs, private sector associations, Government institutions, related projects, etc.
 
Qualifications:
  • University degree in economics or social sciences
  • Sound knowledge of Gender and Social Inclusion and Women Economic Empowerment
  • Knowledge of MSD/M4P approaches
  • At least 5 years’ experience in working on gender and social inclusion related issues.

  • Social competence and intercultural communication skills
  • Good reporting and writing skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Languages: English (oral and written), Kyrgyz (oral and written) and Russian
  • Proficiency with office productivity software
